Theology Today is the premier theological journal published by Princeton Theological Seminary and Westminster John Knox Press.

Theology Today is the premier theological journal published in partnership by Princeton Theological Seminary and Westminster John Knox Press. With each issue, you enter a world of intellectually stimulating conversation about the vital theological issues of our time. You are engaged by exciting thinkers, brought up to date on the latest ideas in theology, and challenged to consider cherished convictions in new ways.

Recent issues of Theology Today have included thoughtful articles on contemporary worship; the often ambiguous but culturally significant interaction of theology and science; scriptural commentaries on Genesis, Job, and Matthew; an exploration of Jewish-Christian relations; reexaminations of the doctrine of the Trinity and Luther’s doctrine of justification; and reconsideration of the Christian tradition of natural law in relation to Scripture.

Classic theological concepts—such as prayer, faith, eschatology, and judgment—receive imaginative treatment. Critical social issues—such as ecology, poverty, sexuality, and race relations—are debated with vigor and insight. And, of course, Theology Today includes an extensive book review section, with analysis of dozens of recent titles in theology, ethics, Bible, worship, and more.

Recent contributors have included Walter Brueggemann, Marilynne Robinson, David Buttrick, Mary McClintock Fulkerson, George Hunsinger, Anna Carter Florence, Traci West, David P. Gushee, Ellen F. Davis, and many more.

“For many of us, Theology Today is a regular visitor who engages us in stimulating biblical and theological reflection. I have yet to receive an issue that fails to stimulate, invigorate, and help me in my ministry.”
—William Willimon, author, speaker, and bishop in the United Methodist Church

”Theology Today keeps a remarkable conversation going between cutting-edge discussion and a sane sober focus on the theological center. I am glad to be among its cover-to-cover readers.”
—Walter Brueggemann, Columbia Theological Seminary

”Theology Today is essential reading for all who are interested in serious and timely theological discussion. It is for me a necessity to my continuing theological education.”
—Richard Mouw, President, Fuller Theological Seminary

”Lively, must-reading for scholars of religion, religious scholars who may or may not be theologians, and practitioners of all faiths. Theology Today displays the verve and complexity of contemporary theological thinking.”
—Jean Bethke Elshtain, The University of Chicago
